Plot Thickens in Wendy's Finger-in-Chili Incident

Friday April 8, 2005
Police have searched the home of the woman who found a human finger in a bowl of Wendy's chili last month but refuse to divulge their findings, reports the San Jose Mercury News. So far, investigators have been unable to determine the origin of the severed body part. "With all the facts we have, we find no credible evidence that Wendy's was the source of the foreign object," a Wendy's spokesman told the Mercury News. Meanwhile, finger finder Anna Ayala denied planting the digit herself, calling TV news reports that it may have belonged to a deceased relative "a bunch of lies."  DNA tests are underway.
