Wendy's 'Chili Finger' Scammers Go to Jail

Anna Ayala, the Nevada woman who made headlines last year after claiming to find a severed human finger in a bowl of Wendy's chili, was sentenced to nine years in prison today for attempted grand theft and conspiracy to file a fraudulent insurance claim. Her husband, who admitted to buying the stray digit from an injured coworker for $100, was sentenced to 12 years a fitting end to a hoax that reportedly cost Wendy's $2.5 million in lost sales due to bad publicity.
